Lime Talent is partnering with an ambitious, scaling consumer goods business to appoint an Operations Director to its Senior Leadership Team.

This is an opportunity to shape the operational strategy of a growing business, building the capability, partnerships and processes needed to support its next stage of expansion. You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain, lead and develop a talented team, and ensure operations deliver strong service, product quality and commercial performance.

Combining strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, you’ll balance growth with operational resilience, improving margins and working capital while ensuring the business can scale with confidence.

 

The role

• Own the end-to-end operations and supply chain strategy, aligning capacity, resources and investment with the business’s growth plans.
• Lead manufacturing and co-manufacturer relationships, driving performance, quality, efficiency and capacity.
• Oversee procurement, sourcing and strategic supplier partnerships, delivering commercial value and security of supply.
• Strengthen demand and supply planning, connecting commercial forecasts with achievable production and inventory plans.
• Optimise inventory, product availability and working capital, balancing customer service with cash efficiency.
• Lead warehousing, logistics and fulfilment, ensuring partners deliver against clear service levels and performance targets.
• Improve gross margin through cost of goods sold (COGS), logistics costs (LOGS), productivity and waste reduction.
• Oversee quality, product safety, traceability and responsible sourcing, ensuring robust standards and controls.
• Build recall readiness and lead the operational response to supply disruption, quality incidents and other business-critical issues.
• Develop capacity plans and supply chain resilience to support growth, manage risk and protect continuity.
• Drive operational sustainability through practical improvements across sourcing, manufacturing, packaging and distribution.
• Ensure the successful operational delivery of new and existing product development (NPD and EPD), from feasibility through to launch and ongoing supply.
• Lead, coach and develop the Operations and Supply Chain team, creating clear accountability and supporting professional growth.

 

About you

You’ll be an experienced operations or supply chain leader with a strong track record in FMCG and experience supporting a business through significant growth.

 

You’ll bring:

• Broad end-to-end supply chain expertise, including manufacturing, procurement, planning and logistics.
• Experience managing co-manufacturers, suppliers and outsourced logistics partners.
• Strong commercial judgement, with evidence of improving margins, costs, service and working capital.
• A sound understanding of quality, product safety, traceability and operational risk.
• The ability to turn business ambitions into clear operational priorities and deliverable plans.
• A collaborative leadership style and a track record of developing capable, engaged teams.
• Confidence contributing at Senior Leadership Team level, alongside a willingness to get into the detail when needed.
