Head of Sales
Position: Head of Sales
Location: Greater London (hybrid | 3 days in the office)
Circa £90,000 – £110,000 + Benefits
Lime Talent is delighted to be partnering with an ambitious, premium food business in the search for a Head of Sales.
This is a senior commercial leadership role with responsibility for developing the company’s sales strategy, building a high-performing team and accelerating new business growth.
The business is looking for a hands-on leader who will set the direction while remaining personally involved in winning new customers. This is not a purely managerial position: you’ll lead from the front, open doors and set the standard for the wider sales team.
Key responsibilities:
- Own and develop the company’s sales strategy in line with its wider growth ambitions.
- Lead, coach and develop the sales team, creating a high-performance and commercially accountable culture.
- Set clear individual and team targets, supported by regular pipeline reviews and performance conversations.
- Personally identify, develop and convert significant new business opportunities.
- Build a strong personal pipeline while supporting the team to strengthen its own prospecting and conversion activity.
- Manage senior relationships with high-value customers and strategic prospects.
- Establish scalable sales processes, effective CRM discipline and clear reporting.
- Provide accurate pipeline, forecasting and revenue reporting to the senior leadership team.
- Identify opportunities to expand into new customers, channels and areas of the market.
- Work closely with marketing, supply chain, product development and finance to deliver the commercial plan.
- Shape the structure and capabilities of the sales team as the business continues to grow.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Previous experience in a Head of Sales or senior commercial leadership role within UK food or drink.
- A strong understanding of the UK grocery market.
- Previous experience managing major retail customers, including responsibility for P&L, budgets and joint business plans.
- A proven track record of personally winning and closing new business.
- Strong leadership experience, including coaching, performance management and team development.
- A proactive and resilient approach, with the energy and determination to create opportunities rather than wait for them.
- Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to balance strategic leadership with a willingness to remain involved in day-to-day sales activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial sales leader to join a growing business where they can make a significant and visible impact.
