Role Overview:

As a Retail National Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in our client’s ambitious strategic plan to double their UK business by 2026. You will be responsible for managing key accounts within the retail sector, collaborating closely with major retailers and your wider team.

You will have the opportunity to work with exciting, fast-paced categories and contribute to a strong UK innovation pipeline. This position offers the chance to be part of a high performing team that achieved remarkable results in 2022, with 30% year-on-year growth by volume and 70% year-on-year value growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including NPD, category, operations, and supply chain, to deliver exceptional service to retail accounts.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for growth and develop strategies accordingly.
  • Create and execute joint business plans with retail customers, focusing on driving category growth and maximising market share.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and pricing structures to achieve profitable business outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyse sales data, promotional activities, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and retail landscape changes to adapt strategies and capitalise on emerging opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Account Manager in the FMCG industry, with a track record of managing key accounts and driving business growth.
  • Familiarity with the retail sector is essential, but experience in any channel within FMCG will be considered.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
