A leading brand in the FMCG sector, specialising in the health and fitness category, is seeking a dynamic Head of Sales. This company is dedicated to providing high-quality, great-tasting products that support active and healthy lifestyles. They are a fast-growing, innovative organisation committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Location: Ability to work in London zone 1 head office three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Role Summary:

Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Head of Sales to lead their sales team and drive the growth of their brand. This key strategic role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy, managing a team of two, and maintaining direct responsibility for one key grocery account. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role within the FMCG sector, with experience in managing relationships with major UK grocery retailers. You should be operating as a Sales Controller or Head of Sales already.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, which includes a Senior National Account Manager and a Junior National Account Manager.
  • Customer Management: Maintain direct responsibility for key grocery customer account, ensuring strong relationships and optimal performance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyse sales performance, providing regular reports to the Managing Director and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, trends, and competitive actions to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including marketing and operations, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the sales budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders both internally and externally to foster strong partnerships and drive business growth.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Sales Controller or in a similar role within a branded FMCG environment, preferably within at least one SME.
  • Grocery Retail Expertise: Extensive experience working with UK grocery retailers, with a deep understanding of their operations and requirements.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a sales team, with strong motivational and mentoring capabilities.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that drive business growth.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

Package:

  • Competitive salary of £85,000 – £95,000
  • Performance-based bonus of up to 20%
