London (Office based circa 2 days per week)


We are looking for a Head of Sales to join the team of our client who is a premium food business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the retail sales division of a highly successful business that sells through multiple channels including grocery, online, convenience, and foodservice.

As the business continues to grow, the Head of Sales role will drive sales performance, develop key retail partnerships, and lead the commercial team focused on grocery.


• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share goals.

• Identify and pursue NPD opportunities with national retailers, building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers.

• Lead sales negotiations and close deals to secure favourable listing terms and maximize sales opportunities.

• Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and reports, providing regular updates to the senior leadership team.

• Grow, develop, and mentor a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.

• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and other departments to ensure the smooth execution of sales plans and initiatives.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences, and provide strategic recommendations accordingly.

• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to promote the brand and expand business opportunities.

• Maintain a strong understanding of the company’s sustainable product offerings and communicate the brand’s values and unique selling propositions to customers.



• Proven track record of success in FMCG sales, preferably in food, with experience in managing grocery retail partnerships.

• Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to grow, motivate and develop a sales team.

• Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building and maintaining relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Passion for sustainability and a genuine interest in food and drink products.
