This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join an established food business. Our client is looking for someone who has a mix of financial/accounting experience as well as purchasing/supply chain experience, ideally from a food background.

Finance Manager responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records, including the receipt, input, and generation of day-to-day commercial documents, while overseeing bookkeeping procedures.
  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts following prescribed Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet formats, and deliver analytical narratives during monthly investor meetings.
  • Take charge of budget and forecast models, subjecting them to internal and external scrutiny as necessary.
  • Optimize cash flow by promptly collecting outstanding debts and effectively managing payments to creditors.
  • Supervise foreign currency transactions and insurance arrangements to minimize costs.
  • Oversee the process of order-taking and invoice generation. g) Manage payroll activities, assist in developing HR policies and handbooks, create job descriptions, and establish appraisal and bonus structures.
  • Provide support for ensuring commercial contracts’ legal security throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with outsourced support to establish and maintain a secure and recoverable IT hardware infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and implement software solutions aimed at enhancing customer service and productivity, ensuring continuous effectiveness.
  • Develop and sustain a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework to monitor performance and manage costs.
  • Offer sales analysis and related systems to bolster business development efforts.
  • Furnish ad-hoc reports, analyses, performance data, and maintain records as needed.
  • Establish and uphold demand planning systems to regulate both raw material procurement and production output.
  • Maintain the accuracy of stock records, rotation, and picking processes to minimize losses.
  • Provide costings for in-house and outsourced products, monitor variances, and drive improvements.
  • Assist in optimizing inbound transport and customer delivery schedules to reduce costs and enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the ordering of raw materials and finished goods in alignment with sales and production forecasts.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient in bookkeeping, including Bill of Materials (BoM) assembly and sales invoicing
  • Experience in delivering Monthly Management Accounts and KPI dashboards.
  • Capability to produce Financial Forecasts (P&L, B/S & Cashflows).
  • Expertise in purchasing disciplines, ideally including demand planning and batch cost modelling.
  • Strong understanding of inventory software systems and manufacturing processes.
