This is a dynamic and rapidly expanding food company with strong investment and ambitions plans for growth. Already listed in the major supermarkets and have won numerous Great taste awards they are now looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their growing team

Position Overview: As a Finance Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance team, responsible for managing critical functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, and Credit Control. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills to interact with customers and suppliers on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable:

  • Generate and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor accounts to ensure timely payments
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of receivables and related transactions

Accounts Payable:

  • Review and process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Prepare and perform payment runs
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain organized records of payables and related documents

Bank Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile bank statements on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues with bank transactions
  • Record and track all financial transactions in the accounting system

Credit Control:

  • Engage with customers to ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Monitor and manage customer credit limits
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide necessary information for resolution
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations teams to address credit-related matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proven experience in finance-related roles, with specific emphasis on AR, AP, bank reconciliation, and credit control
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team
