Location: Surrey (4 days office, 1 day WFH)
Package: £30k to 80k DOE
Our client is looking for a commercially minded and proactive Buyer/Senior Buyer to join their fast-paced Procurement team. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you’ll be responsible for sourcing quality products globally, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring customer needs are met efficiently and ethically.
Responsibilities:
- Product Sourcing: Identify and source products that align with customer specifications, ensuring optimal price, quality, and lead times.
- Supplier Negotiation: Secure favorable terms from suppliers, including pricing, payment, and delivery conditions.
- Logistics & Quality: Coordinate with logistics for timely delivery, oversee import/customs processes, and support quality control as needed.
- Tender Management: Manage customer tenders and provide Sales & Marketing with accurate pricing, product data, and insights.
- Order Processing: Maintain accurate order records in the processing system, ensuring full documentation compliance.
- Supplier Engagement: Continuously evaluate and engage suppliers to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a buying role, ideally within the food industry, with a proven track record in sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management.
- Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong drive to succeed.
- Confident negotiator with strong influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with international shipping, duties, and delivery processes is an advantage.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in working with spreadsheets.
